Barbra Batshalom Executive Director, The Green Roundtable
Barbra is the founder and Executive Director of the Green Roundtable. She collaborates with cities, institutions and companies to transform their internal practices to improve performance, profitability and sustainability. GRT organizes and facilitates a forum for proactive dialogue among diverse professions, and provides resources and expertise to the development, design and construction community. Under her leadership, GRT is New England's regional Affiliate for the US Green Building Council, and is also active with legislative and policy initiatives.
With a diverse background in fine arts, social psychology and fourteen years in architecture and consulting, Barbra brings a variety of skills, from decision making and creative collaboration, to technical work optimizing building system integration, quality and project performance.
Nick d'Arbeloff Co-Executive Director, New England Clean Energy Council
As Co-Executive Director for the Council, Nick drives activity in the areas of Innovation and Growth, and plays a leading role in directing the activities of the Innovation Task Force and the CEO Council. He is also heavily involved with the Council's policy efforts. Previously, he served as the Executive Director for the New England Energy Innovation Collaborative (NEEIC).
Before joining NEEIC, he was the founder and CEO of Conjoin, a developer of sales productivity software for corporate sales teams. The company was acquired by Intranets.com (subsequently acquired by WebEx).
Previously, Nick co-founded and served as VP Marketing for Wildfire Communications, which brought to market a voice recognition-based electronic assistant for managing all of an individual's telephone activities. Wildfire was acquired by Orange PLC, now a subsidiary of France Telecom.
Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President of Marketing for C-bridge Internet Solutions, Director of Marketing for PRI Automation, and Product Manager for Apollo Computer.
Nick is a representative of The Climate Project, trained by former Vice President Al Gore to educate audiences about the science underlying global climate change. He serves on the Board of the Carlisle Conservation Foundation and the Mass Audubon Council.
Nick holds a BA from Georgetown University.
Phil Giudice Commissioner of the Massachusetts Division of Energy Resources
Phil was appointed Commissioner of Massachusetts Division of Energy Resources, July 2007. He is a geologist (B.S. from University of New Hampshire and M.S. in Economic Geology from the University of Arizona) and management professional (M.B.A. from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth) with 30 years experience in the energy industry. Phil serves as board member, board executive committee member and treasurer of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative as well as a board member of both the Commonwealth's Energy Facilities Siting Board and the Center for Effective Philanthropy. Prior to joining DOER, Phil served as board member and Senior Vice President at EnerNOC, a start-up company providing electricity demand-management services to businesses, institutions, utilities, and grid operators to obtain savings for businesses and institutions and relieve stress on the electric system. He was also a Senior Partner, and leader of Mercer Management Consulting's global energy utilities practice.
Robert Pratt Senior Vice President (Climate and Energy), Kendall Foundation
Rob Pratt is Senior Vice President of the Henry P. Kendall Foundation, heading up the Foundation's climate change program. By catalyzing "massive energy efficiency implementation" in New England through programs such as the $100 million, 5 year program in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as well as advocating cutting edge, clean energy policy development, the Foundation hopes to demonstrate that significant greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced in the short to mid-term. Rob formerly served as Director of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative's Renewable Energy Trust (RET), the $250 million fund through which he developed a series of innovative programs designed to promote the use of clean energy technologies and build investment in the state's renewable energy industry.
Mr. Pratt is Chairman of the board of the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC), promoting energy efficiency policies and their implementation in developing countries, a non-profit organization that he founded in 1984. He serves as Treasurer and is on the board of the Alliance to Save Energy (ASE), the largest non-profit organization in the U.S. solely dedicated to the promotion and acceleration of energy efficiency. Rob is on the board of the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA), the organization of 17 renewable energy state funds; and is Chairman Emeritus and a member of the Advisory Board of the American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE), a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. focused on bringing renewable energy into the economic mainstream in the U.S. He also serves on the board of the Cambridge Energy Alliance.
Prior to directing the Renewable Energy Trust, Mr. Pratt was the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Energia Global International, Ltd. (EGI), one of the leading renewable energy companies in Latin America. Founded in 1991 as a startup, EGI (now Enel Latin America) became a major development company in the region, with hydroelectric, wind and distribution assets in Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador and Chile Mr. Pratt received an MPA degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, a JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center, and a BA degree in government with high honors from Wesleyan University.

Harvey Michaels is CEO of Nexus Energy Software, now part of ESCO Technologies, which provides energy meter data management and customer service software to over 85 utility companies. Harvey is a frequent writer and speaker on a more efficient and customer-centric energy marketplace. He serves on the Board of the Demand Response and Advanced Meter Coalition, and recently served on the California Committee on Strategies to Reduce Energy Consumption in Existing Buildings. Previously, he was President of XENERGY, Inc.

Cary Bullock Vice President, Green Fuel Technologies
Cary Bullock has extensive experience as an investor in and as CEO of high-tech, energy services-related startup companies. He has published extensively in the area of energy services and was named by Hart's Energy Markets as one of the top 100 most influential industry leaders in the gas and electric industry in the 20th century. Prior to his tenure at GreenFuel, Bullock was Chairman, Co-founder and CEO of Excelergy Corporation. He has founded and launched successful energy services companies such as FPL Services and Econoler/USA, and served as a VP of Kenentech Corporation, providing management consulting services to electric and gas utilities for development of non-regulated energy service companies and joint ventures.
Richard Chleboski Co-Founder and current Director of Strategic Planning at Evergreen Solar
Richard Chleboski co-founded Evergreen Solar in 1994. In December 2007, Mr. Chleboski assumed the position of Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. Prior to that, Mr. Chleboski served as Vice President of Worldwide Expansion since February 2006. Mr. Chleboski also served as the Company's Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for 12 years. He also served as a director from June 1995 to May 2003.
Mr. Chleboski worked at Mobil Solar Energy Corporation for seven years where he was the Strategic Planner focusing on developing long-range business plans working with strategic partners. Prior to becoming Strategic Planner, he was a Process Engineer responsible for innovating the operation of Mobil Solar's manufacturing line as the expert on its performance.
Mr. Chleboski received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Boston College.
Tom Michelman Founder and President of Boreal Renewable Inc.
In August of 2003 Tom Michelman co-founded Boreal Renewable Energy Development to cost effectively implement distributed generation renewable energy projects. Boreal's focus is utility scale distributed wind generation and hydroelectric development at commercial, industrial, and institutional sites. In addition Boreal has consulted on various aspects of the renewable energy industry. Tom's area of expertise include: retail and wholesale electric markets, financial pro forma scenario analysis, processing of historical energy consumption, and analysis of current and future utility tariffs, and wholesale and REC prices. Prior to founding Boreal, Tom worked as an energy consultant for KEMA (formerly XENERGY) for over 10 years. Tom has a B.S in Resource Economics from the University of Rhode Island, and B.A. in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Political Science from Northwestern University.
Hap Ellis President & Chief Executive Officer of RockPort Capital
Mr. Ellis has extensive operating experience in electric power and renewable energy. He was a member of the management team at Kenetech Corporation from 1991-1995, where he was responsible for expanding the portfolio of wind generation opportunities and introducing wind into utility systems across the country. He later was a partner in several electric-related companies, including most recently Casco Bay Energy Company, LLC, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Duke Energy, which developed and owns a 520MW gas-fired electric generating station, and Acadia Bay Energy Company, LLC, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allegheny Energy which developed a 638MW gas-fired electric generating station. In 1998 Mr. Ellis joined RockPort Partners, a merchant bank specializing in the energy and environmental sectors and helped form the venture fund in 2001.
He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Catalytic Solutions, Inc., Comverge, Inc, Powerspan Corporation, PPT Research, Inc., Southwest WindPower, ISE Corporation, BayCorp Holdings, and Pilgrim Insurance Company. He is also a member of the Finance and Administration Committee of the Massachusetts Audubon Society, as well as a Council member.
Mr. Ellis received a BA from Colorado College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
Christopher Sauer President and Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Renewable Power Company
Mr. Sauer is President, Chief Executive Office and a member of the Board of Ocean Renewable Power Company, LLC and has the ultimate day-to-day responsibility for management of the company. He has a wealth of experience (over 30 years) in the formation and management of startup energy and environmental technology companies, development, permitting and financing of power generation projects, and engineering and construction of major industrial projects.
Walter Sass President of Second Wind
Mr. Sass has been president of Second Wind, Inc. since founding the company with Kenneth Cohn in 1980. Sass's technical marketing and leadership led to the industry's first wind-specific data logger in 1981, the first third-party wind farm supervisory system in 1984. For successive generations of each since then, Sass has presented and moderated at American Wind Energy Association conferences. He has a BSEE from Tufts, and did graduate work at URI, UMass-Amherst and Northeastern.
David Marcus Chief Executive Officer and Director of General Compression
David Marcus has been a wind energy investor since 2002. He is the Managing Partner of Chestnut Capital, which is a partner, investor, or shareholder in several wind energy developers, including Ridgeline, Midwest Renewable, NedPower, Greenlight, Windworks, and the Clean Power Income Fund, and in several wind energy technologies, including Princeton Power, Fallbrook Technologies, and Mechanology. David is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Princeton University, and a founder and former CEO of APEX Property Exchange, a financial services firm founded in 1989 and sold to JPMorgan in 2002. He is a Trustee of the Boston Children's Museum. David and his wife Julie have three children and live in West Newton, MA.

Van Jones is the founder and National Executive Director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights (EBC). Headquartered in Oakland, CA, EBC is a national organization that challenges human rights abuses in the U.S. criminal justice system. Born in rural west Tennessee in 1968, Van is a 1990 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin and a 1993 graduate of the Yale Law School.
Van is a steadfast opponent of policies that result in the over-imprisonment and unlawful abuse of marginalized peoples in the United States. He is helping to lead a national fight for alternatives to the U.S. incarceration industry.
